Clothes Show Live.
This Tuesday I attended Clothes Show Live in Birmingham, it’s the UK’s largest fashion and beauty exhibition taking place annually. The show features hundreds of fashion and beauty brands to shop, plus hair and beauty demonstrations, fast-paced catwalk shows and themed bars and cafes.
The exhibition features one off boutiques, vintage stores and branded fashion labels that can be found on the British high-street, the internet and shopping districts around the UK. There’s also a craft area where knitting, sewing and needlework materials can be found, as well as kits and beads, buttons, threads and yarns for your every customisation need.
Alongside the exhibition is the Fashion Theatre, the world’s largest catwalk show seating an audience of 6,500 up to seven times a day, showcasing music performances, 40 models and dancers and over 350 outfits. Every ticket to Clothes Show Live includes a dedicated seat in the Fashion Theatre; no show year on year is ever the same. This year the theme was Night at the Department Store and had a very West End performance style.
My favourite item I purchased from the show was a black t shirt by the label Conquer; there a diverse collective of artists who create illustrations that are printed onto fair trade fabrics that are made into beautiful garments.
