what to do in vienna this weekend? #18

This time we start the weekend early, because we just had holidays from uni but already feel like we need holidays already again! So we decided the weekend starts at Thursday. Ha, up yours week!
So I put together dates a frock&roller definitely shouldn’t miss out on, by the way if you think your hometown’s under represented, and it most certainly is if it isn’t Vienna you are from – send in some frock&roller events …

Forever 21
Yea, finally the time has come – even though last Friday’s Opening Bash Party flopped, literally and the F21 page dedicated to it was taken down for a bit and critical comments were removed, we are curious what Forever 21 will bring. The shop opens tomorrow, officially on Saturday where the first 500 or so will get “presents” – but as those “presents” didn’t turn out  amazing, I recommend not to go there on Saturday, it will be packed.

Fischmarkt at Badeschiff with beer for free & fish!
Vienna turns Hamburg – lovely. What happening there? The fish market is opening and that needs to be celebrated with fish and beer and music of course. From Thusday on until Saturday, daily from 11am til 6pm. And the goodie for all early birds: from 11 – 12 am free beer for all visitors!

Flohmarkt Neubaugasse
The same procedure as every year – it’s Neubaugasse fleamarket time again! Last year I wasn’t lucky but it’s nice strolling down Neubaugasse anyway and the food stands aren’t bad either! From Friday 9am – Saturday 7pm at Neubaugasse.

Popfest
I saved the the most important date to the last – the Popfest, a great AND free festival with Austrian bands set at Karlsplatz with the stage actually being on that little pond in front of the church. It’s starting Thursday 2pm and ends Sunday in the night. For the schedule take a look here. I recommend you to go and  see Trouble Over Tokyo on Friday, The Black Shampoo, Francis International Airport and Ja, Panik on Saturday – but there’s a lot more to discover so head down and enjoy your weekend!
