F.U.R.S.
I have yet to find out why F.U.R.S are called F.U.R.S. including the dots – it’s definitely not the Google friendliest band name, especially since there’s a handful of bands out there already using “furs” in one or the other way within their name. Either way, it shouldn’t stop me or you from noticing the good music that F.U.R.S. make, besides the “pretty” genetics the Wade family seems to have.
On their Facebook described as “pop and roll” – Liam and Elle couldn’t have described it better. It’s just the right amount of twee pop with just the perfectly measured amount of vintage vibe added – no sickness induced by too many sugary sweets. Jangly guitars, joyous, up-tempo sunshine rock with a smouldering torch for injured love – very reminiscent of The Concretes’ “Can’t Hurry Love” or maybe there is also a little trace of The La’s. For a band you has yet to master their debut gig – their sound is immensely refined and leads us to say: there’s a lot more to come for F.U.R.S. in the future.
The London based duo will play their debut gig this Thursday at Birthdays. MARSHALL TELLER PRESENTS: The History of Apple Pie / F.U.R.S / Gross Magic (Dj) / Jen Long (Dj) / Marshall Teller & Friends (Dj)
