Karl Lagerfeld’s New Label.

It was all the way back in October when Karl Lagerfeld, the distinguished Chanel helmer revealed to the world he would be launching ‘Karl’ – a new, affordable women’s wear label. The collection will be rock ‘n’ roll inspired with prices starting from €60 (£52). We were told to expect the collection in January and to be sold exclusively on NET-A-PORTER.COM.

It’s now the day before the day before the release and NET-A-PORTER are presenting five international pop-up store windows – in London, Paris, New York, Berlin and Sydney. The windows feature edits of the new collection.

The range is consisting of 100 pieces and will feature evening and daywear, including timeless black dresses, silver jeans and vest tops. Initially the collection will only be available online but there are plans to open dedicated ‘Karl’ stores and temporary boutiques.

At the special event held in London‘s  Covent Garden’s on Wednesday shoppers will be able take home Karl goodie bags and T-shirts and possibly win pieces using iPads and phones.

However the designer himself will be celebrating the launch in Paris on the same day where he will be opening an unexplained cube with his face printed on that appeared Friday in Place Saint-Germain-des-Prés, containing unseen film footage.
