Five years ago I was living in London, Amy Winehouse stepped out with bloody ballerina shoes and Paul MCCartney’s ex was still trying to get some use of his limelight, Rihanna’s song Umbrella was played up and down the radio and so was Kate Nash’s Foundations. It annoyed the hell out of me. I didn’t like Kate Nash very much until a former friend gave me a CD of her. So I listened to the full album and Foundations became the thing that got me over London sickness. 

Which is why unless Kate Nash would sell her soul – she can hardly do anything wrong in my eyes. The video above definitely was a bit of a grower. But if you’re into Kate Nash and into Hole there shouldn’t be a problem of liking Kate’s new track. Even though the author of this NME post is adulating the whole thing a little too much, I definitely agree with some of his points, have a read.

Vor fünf Jahren habe ich noch in London gelebt, Amy Winehouse machte da gerade Schlagzeilen wegen der in Blut besuddelten rosa Ballerinas, Paul McCartney’s Ex versuchte gerade noch die letzten Züge im Scheinwerferlicht auszunützen, Rihanna’s Hit Umbrella lief im Radio rauf und runter und ebenso Kate Nash’s Foundations. Es hat mich extrem genervt. Bis ein Freund mir ihr Album gegeben hat. Wieder daheim in Deutschland hat es mir über den Londonkummer hinweggeholfen.

Deshalb kann Kate Nash in meinen Augen nichts falsch machen, außer sie würde ihre Seele verkaufen. Under-Estimate The Girl wächst mit dem Hören. Aber solang du Kate Nash magst und auch Hole sollte es kein Problem sein den Song zu mögen. Auch wenn der Autor dieses Posts auf NME die Dame ein wenig zu sehr beweihräuchert sind ein paar gute Punkte dabei, also lesen.
