Day number two of Berlin Fashion Week wasn’t less exciting – I put together my favourite pieces of my favourite designers. SO here you go – first is Karlotta Wilde who presented her collection in the studio and instead of letting models wear the clobber she decided to hand mannequins from the wall. I totally love the grey/sand coloured ensemble in picture number 1 – pleats still don’t seem to bore me.
Next is Hien Le - who I was able to see on the catwalk last year and in summer I wasn’t really sure about the very elegant and lady like designs. I definitely prefer the autum/winter collection and am totally in love with the colours beige and salmon combined. Also the combination of collars and collar-less coats is quite crafty in my eyes.
Collections that are nearly kept all in black never seem to disappoint me and so I really like Don’t Shoot the Messengers’ collection, only the silk takes a bit getting used to. But the cut out shoulders and material mixture make up for it – and even more Dudley O’Shaughnessy! He found fame by acting along Rihanna in her video for We Found Love.
I wasn’t really sure about Perret Schaad at first, but I had a look through the photos and spotted some rather cool and laid back looks on the cat walk. There is for example the “PJs” look or very similar to Hien Le a collarless coat teamed up with a buttoned up shirt.
I don’t think there is any doubt that Kaviar Gauche had the foremost collection of day number two – Alexandra Fischer-Roehler and Johanna Kühl send white and black goddesses over the catwalk with sheer pleated skirts reminicient of Louis Vuitton. Especially the first dress from the left thrilled me and I can totally picture Florence Welch wearing it.
