Syd Arthur
Like Jamiroquai jamming with Jethro Tull – that’s how Paul Lester described Syd Arthur two years ago. And now two years later this isn’t far off their sound. Syd Arthur isn’t particularly creating a new exciting genre or making particularly innovative music – instead they are indulging into a breed of folk and prog with a slight hint of psychedelia and a dash of soul – but nonetheless they are different from other bands their age. Their name originates from Syd Barrett and the Kinks’ album Arthur – a great mixture if you ask me (although everyone who mentions Syd Barrett to me earns a bonus in my book). Either way their track “Dorothy” is worth a listen and definitely perfect for the cold that is slowly drawing in with the days getting shorter and shorter.

Lovely stuff. The band have conjured their own take on the 70s prog movement. Fantastic live!
