Why I won’t buy Marni at H&M.

Why I won’t buy Marni at H&M. Apart from the fact that H&M invested a lot of money in the advertising campaign and currently makes headlines in England for using an underweight model for it – I don’t really seem to get the hype for Marni for the “common” masses nor any of the cooperations H&M did up to date. Obviously I somehow like the idea of making a brand available to the common person, nice idea but then these cooperations aren’t done to make the common person happy – they are made to make the brand – most recently Marni and H&M happy by making money and raising the profile.
Apart from the fact that Marni’s collection really seemed to succeed and actually looks the part (the prints certainly look nice), I wouldn’t really be proud owning a Marni at H&M piece. If I really decide paying for a label, I’d like to pay for it not a cheap copy or 2nd choice design (which would probably have ended up in Marni’s paper bin) . Obviously I don’t know what I’ll do in future – never say never. If a total timeless piece caught my eye I’d probably go for it – or if I were a huge fan of a label.
But what I’m sure about is tons of bloggers and fashionistas will be seen everywhere wearing rather expensive pieces that in the end are ‘only’ H&M quality.

absolutly same thought as you.. thx for putting it out.
