Au.Ra – Sun
Au.Ra’s debut single Sun doesn’t only bring warm rays of sunlight in to our minds but the shimmering track will spread the band’s name like bushfire. Tom Cradles and Tim Jenkins create that kind of incomparable dreamy soundscape that serves as the soundtrack of your perfect holiday by the beach, lounging in a hammock, soaking up the sun with sand between your toes. The duo which is made up of ex Parades member Tim Jenkins from Sidney and London based Tom Cradles, previously known as Colours alongside Splashh’s frontman Sasha Carlson, layer fuzzy vocals over beaming guitar riffs. The mix of echoing guitars and glistening keyboard sounds is creating a psychedelic drenched song that radiates sonic bliss filtering through hazy proverb.
Even though comparisons to Tame Impala aren’t far-fetched, Au.Ra’s refined and subtle vocal tune creates a uniquely relaxed and dazed atmosphere recalling your best summer memories. The elaborate sound of Sun, which is best described as tie dyed grunge fused with washed out tropical melodies and gleaming charisma, and is a result from a bedroom jam, whets the listener’s appetite for more.
Au.Ra will release a new, yet untiled, single on January 28th, 2013.
